‎"An even darker theory is that there is an
intentional attempt to break the middle class in order to bring America
down to the level of a third world country, a necessary precedent to
imposing One World Government."

The credit crisis plunged state and local governments into insolvency, but the Fed has said there will be no "quantitative easing" for municipal governments. Why not?

That's very insightful, Ann. The hard working middle class doesn't have time for politics but it responds reflexively to trumped up external threats. W's approval ratings were 80-90% as the US was going into Iraq.

Either the middle class has to be gutted, or they have to learn to think with their heads instead of their guts.

This would be quite a hard transformation to achieve. Religion used to be the opiate of the masses. Now it is professional sports consumed by TV. When TV news talks about foreign conflicts, the metaphors of teams winning or losing are applied to Joe six pack's politics.
